依蒋志鑫的艺术经历,他是一位奇侠。许多年里,他独步天涯,千里单骑,从西部到北国,从黄河到昆仑,从戈壁到草原,以顽强的毅力去做一次次孤独的行旅。
我以为,与古人那种主要以散淡悠游之心走向自然的方式不同,他更多是以一个现代人自我放逐的情怀和炼狱者般的意志投身自然,真正在大自然面前敞开胸襟,将自己肉身的生命融入大自然的博大躯体,从而获得灵魂的洗礼,精神的升华,在与天地万物吐纳呼吸合一共振的过程中,达到了“通”与“化”的境界。
他的作品,不仅画出了大自然奇丽壮美的景观与物貌,而且画出了大自然生生不息的元气与魂魄,在空间的广度之外,凝聚了时间的维度,一如穿越时空,来自天籁的性灵。
依蒋志鑫的艺术胆识,他是一位勇者。在中国画坛还陷在古今之争,中西之辩的文化迷惑之际,他以一种原生的灵悟和自觉的意识将陈规旧制甩在身后,义无返顾地超越现实,走向艺术形式探险的极地,以充沛的逸兴驱驭笔墨,任感觉在画面上作逍遥之游。
他的作品在自由的挥洒之中所形成的线条仪态、墨象痕迹、黑白对比、疏密节奏,可谓鬼斧神工,变化万千,又在整体上呈现出与当下时代蓬勃气象内在契合的美学精神。在我看来,蒋志鑫的艺术已非山水画可以框定,而是具有中国文化气度和国际现代格式的当代水墨艺术,把水墨这种中国艺术语言推向了新的高度。

Spirit from the Heaven——Jiang Zhixin
Jiang Zhixin is a legendary figure, speaking of his life as an artist. Over the years, he travelled alone, covered thousands of miles, from the west to the north, from the Yellow River to the Kunlun Mountains, from Gobi to prairie. A lone ranger, he trekked with tenacious perseverance one journey after another.
In my view, he differs from those ancestors, who stepped into the Nature, in a carefree and relaxed manner. He instead, devoted himself into the Nature, exposing completely his heart and soul, as if on a self-imposed exile, with the strong will of going purgatory. He embraced the almighty Nature with his humble self. In doing so, he has acquired the purification of his soul and uplift of his spirit. He has achieved the state of being "smooth" and "through"by synchronizing with every being between the earth and the heaven in his breaths.
His artwork not only portraits the magnificent landscapes and views, but also conveys limitless vitality and spirituality of the nature, which has combined both the depth of time and the breath of space, just like a spirit descending from the heaven, who has traveled beyond time and space.
Jiang Zhixin possesses a brave heart, speaking of his vision and adventurous spirit as an artist. At a time when the disputes still remain unsettled between going for the classic or the modern, between staying with the Chinese heritage or going after the Western call among Chinese artists, he has thrown behind all the stereotypes and set rules, transcended the boundaries imposed by all reality with innate sensitivity yet utmost consciousness, marching towards the yet to be explored domain of artistic manifestation. He indulged all his feelings in his artistic presentation, exploiting pen and ink with ample ease.
With such ease, Jiang painted in strokes and shapes, with traces of ink, by contrast of black and white, and with the rhythm of intensity against looseness. Jiang's artwork demonstrates uncanny workmanship in an ever-changing manner, while showing an aesthetic spirit in accord with the vigorous pulse of contemporary times. For me, his art has gone far beyond the realm of landscape painting. He has successfully escalated the artistic language of the Chinese water and ink painting to a new level by incorporating a modern contemporary element into this representation of Chinese culture.
